Until Next Year, HIMSS!
By Michel Nadeau, CEO of CareSimple
Well, that’s a wrap on HIMSS21! Whether you made the trip to Las Vegas to attend in person or joined the digital conference from the comfort of your own office, I think that most show participants would agree that the event gave a glimpse of a post-COVID world where so much innovation has so rapidly happened and where collaboration between technology and healthcare professionals is able to drive better access to quality care.
In terms of the hot topics trending last week, interoperability and revenue cycle management were center stage, along with telehealth and remote patient monitoring (RPM). Speaking of RPM, I was proud to present a digital session this year with Michael Dalton, Vice President, Virtual Care Enterprise at The MetroHealth System: “Empower Population Health with RPM.” Missed it? For registered attendees, it’s not too late to access the content! Check it out on-demand here!
During our presentation, Michael and I dive into the clinical and financial benefits of RPM for patients, providers and healthcare organizations as well as share real world insights around best practices for integrating RPM into an existing chronic care management program like that at The MetroHealth System, which uses Epic. We highlight the collaboration between our two organizations from a three-month pilot during the first wave of the pandemic to the launch of a full virtual chronic disease management program, and map out how other forward-thinking healthcare organizations today can replicate our clinical successes to date.
